Editorial Lead
Robert has worked in the videogame industry for more than a quarter-century, working as a freelance journalist/reviewer for many years before joining Ziff Davis Media in 1998, eventually becoming an Executive Editor.
Robert transitioned to game analysis in 2005 and has, over the ensuing years, worked with a virtual who’s who of client companies, running the gamut from the largest AAA companies to mom-and-pop indies. Robert has been a panelist at E3 and a frequent background source on the videogame industry for the New York Times.
Separate from the videogame industry, Robert is one of the original screenwriters of Troma Films’ cult classic Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D. and the writer of an unproduced Supreme Commander script based upon Gas Powered Games’ hit videogame.
In his free time, Robert is a frequent concertgoer and Moth StorySLAM participant (and occasional winner).
Operations Lead
Ryan got his start in 2003 as an editor for Computer Gaming World; by the time he left Ziff Davis Media in 2009, he was overseeing the entire 1UP Network's game reviews department. After a two-year stint at IGN Entertainment, where Ryan managed day-to-day operations at GameSpy, he left the media to begin an independent consulting career.
Since then, Ryan has helped to shape games for some two-dozen publishers, big and small. Ryan has also brought his media expertise to bear as the Editorial Director of E3’s public- and attendee-facing content operations from 2012-2016, and Managing Editor of Microsoft’s consumer-targeted Xbox Wire channel from 2014-2016.
Ryan has also co-hosted three (and crowdfunded two) wildly successful podcasts since 2006: Games for Windows Magazine companion show GFW Radio, independent gaming/geek culture podcast The Geekbox, and weekly comedy/lifestyle podcast The Comedy Button.
